Sophie King

Sophie has a BA in Film from Kings College London and graduated the BFI Film Academy, NFTS BFI Talent Campus and the NFTS Diverse Directors Workshop. Her film Uneatable premiered on Channel 4 and is being developed into a feature. Sophie’s film The Trip was selected by BAFTA and Oscar qualifying film festivals around the world and was nominated for awards including Best Drama and Best International Short. It screened at Hollywood’s Chinese Theatre, premiered on US TV as a primetime Saturday night Movie of the Week and was distributed by AMC’s Shorts International. Sophie’s prior short Swoon was nominated for Best Director at Underwire Festival and has been picked up for Little Dot’s Tall Tales.

Helen Simmons

producer

Helen is a producer and writer. After running the student film festival Watersprite, Helen produced several short films, with directors including Kate Herron and Chloe Wicks, which have screened at festivals across the world including Rhode Island, Flickerfest and LOCO. Her debut feature Chubby Funny was released in 2017 and was nominated for a BIFA and the LOCO Discovery Award. Her second feature Ilkley was selected as part of Great 8 at Cannes in 2018 and stars Derek Jacobi and Anna Maxwell Martin. Helen's debut features as a writer, Betty and Maria are currently in development, and she was nominated for Best Screenwriter at Underwire for her debut short, F*ck. She was named a Screen International Star of Tomorrow in 2018 and is part of the British Screen Advisory Council’s Future Leaders Forum.

Siân Docksey

Siân is a stand-up comedian, writer and performer. She has written jokes for broadcast on BBC Radio 4 Extra and BBC Radio 1, an original Channel 4 Shorts comedy pilot, and taken five critically-acclaimed alternative comedy shows to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (The Telegraph’s Funniest One-Liners of the Fringe 2017; “4-stars, joy and bewilderment in equal measure” - The Skinny.) Her theatre writing has been shortlisted for the Royal Shakespeare Company’s The Other Prize and the Cambridge Footlights Harry Porter Prize.

Stephanie Aspin

producer

Stephanie is a  producer and writer. She began her career working in acquisitions at TWC, before joining David Yates as his assistant on Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them. Stephanie has produced several short films, which screened internationally at festivals including Flickerfest and LSFF.  

Stephanie is the lead writer on a TV project starring Benedict Cumberbatch, with Ed Berger attached to direct. She is developing further projects for new platform Quibi, World Productions, Sunny March, Twelve Town and Moonage. Her debut feature, Chosen, is being directed by Hope Dickson Leach and executive produced by David Yates.
