As all filmmakers know, plans don’t always go to plan. Our new Belief Grant emerged when our 2024 short film fund unfolded in an unexpected way.

Instead of finding five production-ready shorts that were achievable on the budget and fit our theme of ‘belief’, we found three. But there were seventeen other shorts that we loved from talented filmmakers we wanted to celebrate and support.

So we decided to change our plans and, in keeping with our theme, we created a new Belief Grant to demonstrate our belief in the films and filmmakers we're excited about.

The Belief Grant awards £2000 to each filmmaking team to fund activities that move their film closer to production or help them become better prepared to make their film. The filmmakers can also choose to use the grant as a contribution to the film's production budget, if that's what's most helpful.

Together, the films take us all over this uncertain kingdom and beyond with original and compelling stories, told in a mind-opening mix of genres and styles.
