Ellen is an award-winning documentary filmmaker. Her short films have screened at Sundance, SXSW, Hot Docs, Sheffield DocFest and on BBC iPlayer. In 2017, Ellen was supported by Film Roundhouse as an Emerging Artist and in 2018 she was selected for the Indie Training Fund’s Rising Director’s Scheme. Life in Miniature, the short film she made on the scheme, won the IMDb New Filmmaker Award and a Jury Prize at Aspen ShortsFest. In May 2019 she completed her latest film Country Girl which was funded by the BFI & Doc Society's Made of Truth Shorts Program.

Alice Hughes

producer

Alice is a Grierson and BIFA nominated producer with credits in award winning TV documentary series, music videos, short films and branded content. Her debut feature Half Way screened in Picturehouses across the country to 4- and 5-star reviews as well as at the Houses of Parliament and City Hall, where it was the first film to be used as official evidence in an inquiry. The film partnered with Shelter on their 50th anniversary and in 2017, its success led to the director being named BAFTA Breakthrough Brit. Alice is currently in development for her new feature documentary, which was named ‘one to watch’ at Sheffield Documentary Festival 2018 in Deadline Magazine.
