Rubika is a Screen International Star of Tomorrow and a 2019 Film London Lodestar. Her films have screened at Sundance, Berlin, Tribeca and BFI London Film Festival among others. Rubika’s debut feature documentary White Riot was featured in the GREAT 8 showcase at Cannes 2018 and is a collaboration between BBC Films, the BFI and Film Four. Her mini-doc Let’s Dance: Bowie Down Under screened theatrically in UK cinemas through Picturehouse and her doc shorts have screened on BBC News and BBC Two. She is mentored by award-winning filmmakers Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard (20,000 Days on Earth).
Jessie’s recent films include Looted, directed by Rene Pannevis, which was funded by the Film London/BBC Films/BFI Microwave scheme and is currently in post-production, and writer/director Anna Maguire’s short film Constellations, which won Best Screenplay at Underwire. Jessie’s earlier producing credits include Associate Producer on Cherie Nowlan’s 2007 Sundance hit Clubland, co-producer of Julien Temple’s film opera The Eternity Man (Locarno 2008), and producer of Deborah Mailman’s Ralph, which won the Australian IF Award for Best Short Film. She is the production executive at sales company Goalpost Film and regularly consults for screen agencies including Screen Australia, BAFTA Rocliffe and Met Film.
