Aleksandra Bilic, Writer/Director
Aleks is a Grierson-award-nominated director and BIFA nominated producer. She is originally from Bosnia but her family fled to the UK during the Bosnian conflict. She is interested in work which deals with issues of displacement and working with under-represented talent. She directed a short film Sounds of Tehran as a collaboration with a female sound designer Nesa in Iran. Her second project as a director, The Score, is a documentary collaboration with her mother, dealing with themes of nostalgia and displacement. The Score premiered at Sheffield DocFest 2022 and was released by New York Times Op Docs, won best documentary short at SEEfest LA, was nominated for best short doc at The Griersons, and was a Vimeo Staff Pick. She hosted and helped create a podcast called Untold Killing in collaboration with Remembering Srebrenica which recently received a Lovie award. Recent producer credits include Nascondino (LFF 2021, CPH:DOX 2022), 8 Bar: The Evolution of Grime (BBC Film), The Great Hack (Netflix) and Surviving Earth (Film4/ BFI).
Molly Denton, Producer
Molly is a filmmaker and producer with experience working across short films, music videos and development. After graduating from a degree in filmmaking, she took part in The Network, Edinburgh TV Festival’s Talent Scheme and has produced films for Channel 4’s Random Acts, IMDb’s Script to Screen Award, BBC Art’s New Creatives, BFI NETWORK and RTÉ. Molly is currently working as a producer and manager’s assistant.
